The news is filled lately with reports of the extensive benefits of meditation for both physical and mental health. If you’d like to try it (and I recommend that you do!) but you’re not sure how to start, look no further! There are lots of great resources out there, and many are free. In addition, some of them can be right at your fingertips by simply downloading an app to your phone. Here’s a list of 6 apps to check out:
Meditation Timer Free: Helps you to focus on meditation and not the time and allows you to create reminders to meditate.
Omvana: Features guided meditations by authors, teachers and “spiritual celebrities”, along with inspirational tracks, music and poetry. Read more about it here.
Take a Break!: Guided meditations.
Headspace: Helps you learn meditation and mindfulness in 10 minutes a day. If you like it and want to subscribe, you can get additional content. Find out more here.
Calm: Features different guided meditation programs, relaxing music, and beautiful nature backgrounds. Content is also available on their website.
Relax Melodies: Allows you to create your own mix of relaxing sounds and melodies. Designed as an app for improved sleep, it’s great for lots of other things, too, including meditation.
Try one or try them all and start experiencing the benefits that regular meditation has to offer.
